Expert in Sleep Education
Hello, I'm Oliver
When you are sleep deprived, you don't need to read data and facts about sleep and learn the dangers of lacking of it. You simply need to do something about it, and my method offers a real solution, in a calm and gentle way.
"Better sleep is just a gentle movement away"
My Story: Becoming a Nervous System Specialist & Sleep Expert
It might take many tries before honing in on that one thing meant for you. I grew up in a musical family, and since I was young, I had the ambition to become a violinist. This love of music inspired me to study music, and after getting my Master of Fine Arts, I gave many concerts and taught violin. This was wonderful, but when I started to experience recurring stiff body, back pain and sleepless nights, my journey took another turn.
In the beginning, I took the common steps to deal with my physical stress. The medical experts prescribed painkillers, told to rest, and start fitness. I also tried physiotherapy and acupuncture sessions, Tai Chi, and Alexander technique lessons. Some days I could cope, but generally only by limiting myself from doing what I wished to do.
After trying different methods and reading countless books on neurology and physiology, in January 2000, I was invited to Tel Aviv to learn about the Feldenkrais "Awareness Through Movement", named after its founder, Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984). My teacher was Mia Segal, one of the most experienced movement teachers in the world. After my first lesson, I took a walk on the Mediterranean beach and it was amazing. Not because of the beautiful place, but because I never had felt so lively and light before.
I then followed the 3-year professional Feldenkrais Movement Teacher training and learned the science of neuroplasticity and neuro-educational movements. In my practice, I started to discover new ways to make music learning easier, but the best was yet to come: I was not only helping my students with their music but with common physical issues as well. I then realized my true calling: helping people to overcome physical discomforts through learning new, easier, and better movements. Inspired by this, I decided to call my work the Body Fine-Tuning method.
The story continues as I unexpectedly experienced how certain gentle movements made me fall asleep and get more of deep quality sleep. Inspired by my discovery, I developed the Moving into Sleep Method.
"The best way to improve is with movements that heal the body, and fine-tune you — inside out."
